CAMINO TRAINING WALK + MEETUP – Mount Victoria
WALK INFORMATION
Both the easy and the medium walks start in the carpark at Mt Victoria Station. Location.
There are toilets at Memorial Park Mt Victoria (cnr the Causeway and Great Westerm Highway) and at Mt Piddington. Cafes in Mt Victoria may not be open before 9am.
Walk 1 – Easy
Start time: 8:30am for 8:45am start
Distance: About 7 km. About 3 hours
Description: Starting at Mt Victoria station, a walk through streets of Mt Victoria to Mt Piddington, then on to Hourn Pt for views over the Megalong Valley. Return to Mt Victoria station via Sunset Rock lookout.
Walk 2 – Medium
Start time: 8:30am for 8:45am start
Distance: About 13km. About 4 hours
Description: A medium walk in Mt Victoria. Details to be provided closer to the date.
To join the medium walk you must have walked with the Blue Mountains Camino group previously – no first timers. You also need to be confident of your fitness to walk for 3-4 hours.
CAMINO MEETUP
We will hold our regular Camino meetup in the Mt Victoria Memorial Park. Location. Bring a picnic lunch or buy lunch from the cafes in town. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
The meetup runs from 2-4 pm. This is a relaxed and informal opportunity to hear from guest speakers about various topics, including recent Camino experiences, Camino gear, taking care of feet, travelling to various pilgrimages, and most importantly – just mingling with like-minded and future pilgrims.
