As this was a special pilgrimage for me, I really wanted to celebrate it at a special Albergue. This had to be Casa Susi (Trabadelo). Many of us have enjoyed Susi and Fermin visits at Glenella so you will understand.
Casa Susi is 183Km to Santiago de Compostela. My son David walked with me to Sarria. Arriving in SdC in late April and after 4 days of visiting the magnificent Cathedral and SdC, I bussed it to Porto to do the 275Km Camino Coastal Portuguese. This I enjoyed and treasured very much. Yes, I managed to get lost a few times, and Yes, Camino Angles straightened me out (they know who they, and I’m grateful).
I’ve asked myself ‘why did I enjoy the Camino Portuguese, more than my 183Km on the Camino Francis. My answer to myself is the CF was for me a test… can I do it? With the CP, I was over joyed when I crossed the Portuguese/Spanish border, and realised SdC was to be achieved. In Portjugal you can binge on Portuguese Tart but in Spain the first thing in the morning is fresh orange juice, café lechi, vinoe Tinto,
Now two months + after, my first memories are the treasured joy and fellowship of the BMCS and the joy at being together in Santiago de Compostela.
Camino Inglis is in my next sight o;)))
