A large group of almost 50 walkers joined BMCS for a delightful Spring day walk starting from Woodford Reserve, Woodford. Wow, 50 people is probably our largest gathering for a last Saturday of the month Camino walk! Walkers were separated into Easy and Medium groups and then split into two groups again to make it manageable for the walk leaders and sweepers before heading off.
It was wonderful to see many returning pilgrims and others who we haven’t seen for a while, as well there were many new walkers joining us today for the first time! Some of the new people have done a Camino before whilst others were keen to find more about the Camino. Welcome everybody!
After leaving Woodford Reserve all the walkers, in the groups headed into Blue Mountains National Park and the Transit of Venus Track which lead us down to visit Mabel Falls before splitting off into Easy route of around 7kms/3 hours and Medium routes of 11kms/4hours walking.
Many in the Easy group, after catching up at Woodford Reserve had to head off early. However, it was still a large group for the Camino Meetup to listen to Sharise have a Camino Conversation with Tony & Johann who walked Le Puy to St Jean Pied de Port earlier in 2024. There was a lot of interest with some pilgrims saying “I want to do this Camino next”!
Despite the cool start to the morning, the weather was perfect walking weather and later for our Camino Meetup picnic.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Woodford walk and to our walk leaders, Margaret & Robert and Sharise & Ann and of course to the sweepers for keeping the groups together.
Thanks to the walk leaders and sweepers, and to those who contributed to the photos.
