Typical of Blue Mountains weather, it was a drizzly start for the monthly Camino training walk, however the 32 walkers were a hardy bunch of Camino people, donning their ponchos and rain jackets for the Mt Victoria walk.
The walking routes similar, setting off towards Mt Piddington and Hornes Point Lookout, with 16 walkers in each group (Easy and Medium routes). The Easy group continued onto Sunset Rock whilst the Medium group ventured down the escarpment trail coming across a small waterfall and stunning views of the escarpment ‘walls’ high above before the group continued back up and onto Sunset Rock.
Due to the damp conditions, Plan B for the Camino Meetup was put in place and was held in the delightful Atrium at Victoria & Albert Guesthouse (V&A). Both groups of walkers arrived around the same time which enabled lunch to be ordered and consumed and for the Camino Meetup, attended by around 25 people, to start earlier.
Margaret conducted an insightful interview with Sharise and Mary Mc, both soon to be first time pilgrims on the Camino Frances. Very exciting! Buen Camino
Thank you everybody who braved the Mountains weather and for attending the February Camino training walk and/or Camino Meetup. There were pilgrims coming from as far as Canberra, the Central Coast, Mudgee, the Sydney Basin and the Blue Mountains.
Thank you to Shane and Josie for hosting BMCS at V&A, and thanks to our walk leaders and sweepers.
